Emily
Founder & Managing Director
Emily Xu is the Managing Director of Story Leading Education Ltd. She founded Storyland in Shanghai, China, in 2014, successfully establishing two centers dedicated to fostering children’s bilingual literacy and critical thinking through engaging and creative programs.
Emily holds a Master of Common Law from the University of Hong Kong. As a mother of two creative children growing up between Shanghai and London, she firmly believes in the importance of bringing stories to life, using the power of storytelling to bridge cultures, and supporting children from diverse cultural backgrounds. She is passionate about helping young learners navigate multiple languages and perspectives as they pursue their passions. Inspiring young minds is at the heart of her work, and she remains committed to developing innovative learning experiences in both English and Chinese that ignite a lifelong love for reading and storytelling.
Kieran
Education Development Director
Kieran has been part of the Story Leading Education team for five years, working alongside a dedicated group of educators who bring stories to life for young learners. His love for literature began in childhood, sparked by discussions with his older brother about books like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. These early conversations nurtured his passion for fantasy and science fiction, shaping his journey as a reader and educator.
At Story Leading Education, Kieran is committed to guiding young readers toward books they love and creating a safe space for them to explore and discuss big ideas. He believes that every child deserves the freedom to express themselves through stories and is passionate about fostering a love for reading in the next generation.
Rey
Project Lead
Rey has over 20 years of experience in marketing and sales in the Chinese market. She currently leads StoryWi-Fi, helping young Chinese children develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in English.
Passionate about psychology and child education, Rey is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to learning. At Story Leading Education, she continues to shape the future of children’s education through creative and impactful programs.
